Why Perform Elite Is The Best Pre Workout Supplement For Endurance Athletes, OCR, Runners & Cyclists.
Good afternoon, my endurance friends. My name is Matt Mosman and I am the co-founder of EndurElite, the maker of premium supplements for endurance athletes. Today, we're gonna take an in-depth look at PerformElite, the first truly effective pre-workout supplement designed specifically for endurance athletes, not meatheads, not the gym crowd, anything like that.
Now, you know, as I said, first truly effective pre-workout for endurance athletes. While there are other pre-workouts that have come before PerformElite, I think after watching this video, you'll see why I say the first truly effective pre-workout supplement for endurance athletes. So with PerformElite today, we are going to basically discuss who is it meant for. We'll take a brief glimpse at all the ingredients, or at least a few of them, and describe how they enhance anaerobic performance, speed, power, focus, reaction times, things of that nature, and then we'll kinda conclude with what's the best way to take PerformElite. So, without further ado, let's take a look at some of the ingredients in PerformElite.
The first thing you'll notice on the supplement facts panel are four different complexes. You have the VO2 Boost complex, you have the lactic acid neutralizer complex, anti-fatigue and focus matrix, and then the extended energy and endurance blend. Now, what we'll do is we'll look at one ingredient from each of these blends, and then if you want more in-depth information about every single ingredient, I'm gonna write an article this coming week that will provide a much more in-depth look at PerformElite.
Now, the first ingredient in the VO2 Boost complex blend is beetroot powder.
Beetroot Powder
Now, you've probably seen stand-alone beetroot products out there. Like your mom always says, you know, "Beets are good for you," and she's exactly right, especially as it pertains to endurance performance. Now, PerformElite has 16-17 milligrams of beetroot powder that yields 500 milligrams of nitrates. Now, nitrates from the beetroot powder are basically what's gonna provide you that performance-enhancing effect. And this is done by lowering the ATP cost of exercise. Now, ATP is our cellular energy. That means everything from our breath to our muscle contractions relies on ATP to happen. So, with the beetroot powder in lowering the ATP cost of exercise, that basically means less work or less energy is required to do the same amount of work. This especially is true for intense endurance exercise.
Beta Alanine
The next ingredient we're gonna look at is beta-alanine. A lot of you are probably familiar with beta-alanine. Beta-alanine is basically a muscle acidity buffer. Now, what does that mean exactly? When we exercise, especially very intensely, muscle acidity increases and that's what causes kind of the muscle burn, the fatigue, things in nature. Now, with the beta-alanine, the dose you have in here is 3.2 grams, and what that's gonna do is it's gonna saturate muscle carnosine stores. And muscle carnosine sores act as that buffer against the muscle acidity as intense exercise increases. Beta-alanine is especially effective for efforts lasting two to four minutes at full blast, basically. So you think a sprint towards the end, trying to get away in a breakaway, powering up a hill, beta-alanine is gonna help with all of that.
Choline
The next ingredient in the anti-fatigue and focus matrix is choline. Now, choline serves basically two different functions. For the purpose of the focus and anti-fatigue matrix and as the name implies, Choline basically gives you an atrophic-type effect, a focus-type effect. So as you're really driving hard during a race in training, it provides a sort of mental toughness, if you will, to keep on pushing, to have that mental fortitude to just keep on going and going and going.
Caffeine
The last ingredient we're gonna look at is in the extended energy and endurance blend, and this one is caffeine anhydrous. Now, before you get your pains in the bunch, the myths about caffeine causing dehydration or caffeine, you know, is gonna make your heart explode during endurance exercise is just that, completely a myth. Caffeine, hands down, is one of the most proven ergogenic or performance-enhancing aids as it relates to improving endurance performance, specifically tied to fatigue, time-trial performance. Basically, kind of like the beetroot powder, making intense exercise seem a lot easier.
Now, we have two forms of caffeine in PerformElite. That basically yields 210 total milligrams of caffeine. Now, why that amount? Research shows that in order for caffeine to be effective for improving endurance exercise, you need to consume about three to six milligrams per kilogram body weight. So, this kinda 210-milligram range would be perfect anywhere from 140 to 180-pound up individual. So, how exactly does caffeine work? Caffeine is thought to work by a few different mechanisms, the first being is caffeine competes with adenosine receptors in the body. Now, when caffeine isn't present and adenosine binds to these adenosine receptors, that's when you usually get that feeling of fatigue or tiredness or maybe why you start to peter out towards the end of a race. So what caffeine does is the caffeine molecule competes with adenosine for this adenosine receptor. And when basically the caffeine says, "Get the hell out of here, adenosine" and binds to the receptor, that's gonna prevent fatigue from happening.
A second mechanism is caffeine is thought to increase fatty acid oxidation, meaning basically what it sounds like. Your body is using fat as fuel for an intense exercise, and then basically spearing glycogen for harder efforts later in the race or training. The third mechanism that caffeine is thought to work by is it may increase the release of calcium from something called the sarcoplasmic reticulum. So basically, calcium is required for muscle contractions to occur or the binding of the muscle fibers to make muscle fibers bind together and cause the muscle contractions. So if you have more calcium being released from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, this potentially could lead to sustained longer and stronger muscle contractions.
Now, I said this formula has two forms of caffeine. One is the caffeine anhydrous and the other is called PurEnergy. Now, PurEnergy is a combination of caffeine and a blueberry extract. There's a lot of cool research behind PurEnergy. It basically shows that it will extend the half-life of caffeine or how long caffeine is in your system. So it will extend energy and endurance by about two hours, without the typical caffeine crush you might typically get from a higher amount of caffeine. So really, really cool ingredient. Now, a lot of people have asked me, "Why can't I just get my caffeine from coffee?" While you absolutely can and it is probably gonna provide some performance enhancing benefits, caffeine anhydrous has been shown to be actually more effective in several research studies.
Okay, so that was just a brief look at some of the ingredients. Now, who's this really meant for? We have tested this product on thousands of different athletes from runners, to cyclists, to triathletes, to obstacle course racers. Basically, any sport where stamina is paramount, PerformElite is gonna work really, really well.
Now, the best way to take it. Shake about 5 to 10 seconds before you take it, take a scoop out, mix in about 8 to 16 ounces of water, depending on how you like the sweetness of a drink, and sip on that about 30 minutes before endurance exercise. Honestly, it's like rocket fuel. You're gonna have the most amazing workouts. It's fantastic stuff.
So that's about it. That's just kind of a quick glimpse of PerformElite. We will have a more in-depth article coming in weeks if you wanna check out a little more in-depth what PerformElite is all about. I'll be shooting some more videos describing EndurElite as the brand and a lot of other cool content. So stay fueled, stay focused, stay fast. Until next time, my endurance friends
