Ever wonder if super shoes can help you run faster? That's going to be the topic of our sixty second brain bomb for today.
So super shoes really have been all the rage in running circles these last few years with claims that they can help you run a lot faster. And really, the special sauce behind these super shoes are a special stackable foam, a carbon fiber rocker plate, and kind of the curved design. But can they actually help you run faster?
Well, science has an answer for that. An analysis of over a half million marathon and half marathon times recorded between 2014 and 2018 showed that runners who wore super shoes were 2 to 4% faster than similar runners not wearing super shoes. But I would take this with a grain of salt because other research studies have shown that super shoes have no effect on performance or actually decrease performance.
My verdict? I mean, super shoes probably do work for the majority of the population, but it's one of those things where you got to try for yourself and see if it works for.
