NutraBio Athlete Jimmie Rivera Wins at UFC 203

NutraBio Athlete & UFC Fighter Jimmie "El Terror" Rivera just won the biggest fight of his life. On Saturday, 9/10/16, Rivera defeated the #2 ranked bantamweight Urijah Faber at UFC 203. Rivera put on a dominant performance for all three rounds, winning by unanimous decision after 15 minutes of action. The victory moved the #12 ranked Rivera up 5 spots to #7, while the loss for Faber bumped him down 4 spots to #6. As the legendary Muhammad Ali said, "The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights." Rivera clearly did his homework. Watching film and developing a well rounded game, Rivera was prepared. For every attack Faber made, Rivera made two. Faber attempted to throw high kicks and shots from the outside but Rivera just fired back with a combination of precision, power punches. As the rounds went on, Rivera started to throw devastating leg kicks, eventually catching Faber with a direct shot to his lead leg and dropping the "California Kid" to the ground.

Despite a few fouls by Faber that paused the fight, everything went exactly as Rivera planned. At the end of 15 minutes, Rivera was announced as the winner, by unanimous decision. Before the fight, NutraBio followed Rivera and coach Tiger Schulmann around as he took his training outside of the MMA gym and into the boxing ring. To perfect his hand speed and quickness, Rivera traveled to Jersey Boy Boxing Club to spar with a professional boxer.
